The first thing you see is the collection of UNC memorabilia covering one portion of the wall with a basketball goal underneath. Beneath the goal is a trash can.
I don't suppose you'd be surprised if I asked "How 'bout them Heels?"
She smiles and motions to the room.
As you can tell, I am a bit of a UNC fan... Hope I don't give you permanent mental blockages when you next see the color blue. This room is probably the most color schemed in all of the house. All UNC blue, all the time. There might be a few white or yellow spots but that is worth ignoring considering one is the school's and one my Jule's.
She smiles and lets you look around the room a bit on your own.
Almost directly in front of the door is a nest like chair large enough to fall asleep in. The circular object is slightly closer to the window than anything else in the room but looks almost centered. The one cushion is soft and larger around than the vine like wood that is the base and support for the strange piece of furniture. It looks very comfortable.
The actual bed is against the wall, next to the door. The sheets are a UNC sports print with light blue basket balls, footballs, baseballs and soccer balls. The comforter is blue and displays the UNC mascot, the ram.
As if knowing where you're looking the woman picks up her narrative.
Soon I'll have pictures of everything UNC in here. I used to have a wonderful link to a page full of merchandise. Unfortunately through circumstances beyond my control it got deleted and Ive yet to find the time to locate the site again. When I do, Ill get Laura to post at it to our virtual Pup's bookmarks... Those sheets will be getting replacements from that store any day now. Julie's been complaining that they're too worn.
She smiles and shakes her head in thought.
Julie and I usually share a room, but when she's sick or when she or I need some time alone we sleep in our separate rooms. So that means I replace the sheets fairly often... She's particular about her sheets.
Hanging from the other walls, more UNC memorabilia catches your eye. A UNC flag, some pompoms, and a poster of the UNC basketball team from Dean Smith's last year. In the corner of the room, diagonal from the bed, is a UNC horn standing ready to be taken to the games.
Near the door is a small UNC table with another lamp on it. Also here are a picture and a tape player. On the wall over the table is a poster for the UNC campus.
The small bookstand next to the table (painted in Tar Heels) holds multiple books on North Carolina history, some going back as far as the first colonies. There is one book on Head Coach Dean Smith of UNC basketball sitting on top, next to a Carolina basketball lamp.
Having decided you've seen as much of this color as you can take, you turn to go, noticing the splash of rainbow color of a flag in the corner by the door.
